Monthly Den meetings & activities
Dens (groups of 6-8 scouts in the same grade) typically meet once or twice a month to complete scout advancement requirements through various fun events earning patches and awards. Advancements are recognized at the monthly pack meetings.
Den activity examples include: citizenship skills, basic first aid, hikes, museums, survival skills, games and other developmental and fun activities. Parents or guardians assist the Cub Scout in completing advancement requirements.
Parents make the program happen
Parent are the heart of the Cub Scout program. Each den has an assigned Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader, and these positions are usually filled by parents of scouts of that den. Many other adult leader positions are needed to help make the program a success.
Registration and training are provided by the Pack for those who are interested in helping. BSA policy for Child Protection requires a minimum of two-deep adult leadership at scout events. Thus, dedicated adults are required in program positions as well as behind the scenes to make the Pack activities and events successful.
If you'd like to help in any capacity, please contact the Pack Committee Chairman or Cubmaster. Remember that Cub Scout Packs don't exist without volunteer leadership.
